SUEZ NWS Wins Four New Contracts in China to Support Green Development along the Yangtze Economic
2019-08-01 20:16       来源:SUEZ       作者:       分享:

SUEZ NWS has recently won four new water contracts with a total value of more than RMB 2 billion. The contracts include river rehabilitation in Wuhan, treatment of industrial wastewater in the Taixing Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu, equipment supply and technical services contracts for sludge treatment in Pudong, Shanghai and Changsha, Hunan.

l  In Wuhan, SUEZ NWS and its partners will rehabilitate the Huangxiao and Jichang Rivers. SUEZ NWS will provide overall technical consultation on pollution control systems and wastewater treatment solutions and membranes, as well as through developing a water monitoring and master dispatch and control system through smart solutions. The commissioning of the project is planned for 2021. Together with the local partner, SUEZ NWS will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the facilities for 15 years.

l  In Taixing, SUEZ NWS will create a joint-venture with partners[2] that will be in charge, over the next 20 years, for financing, building, operating and maintaining an industrial wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), with a daily treatment capacity of 50,000 m3, as well as sewer networks at the Taixing Economic Development Zone. The sludge generated by the WWTP will be transferred to the park’s hazardous waste treatment plant (HWTP) to be recovered. The HWTP, operated by a SUEZ NWS JV, will be commissioned in second half of 2019 with an annual treatment capacity of 30,000 tons. The HWTP will comply with the most stringent EU emission standards and produce high-pressure steam as a form of clean energy to supply companies in the park, thus helping to reduce coal consumption by 15,000 tons per year.

l  In Shanghai, SUEZ NWS will apply SUEZ’s Thermylis® 2S solution into Pudong’s sludge treatment plant. This process maximizes the reduction, stabilization and harmless treatment of wet sludge with an emission performance that exceeds EU standards. The fly ash at the end of the process can be used as construction material instead of being landfilled. The project has a designed daily treatment capacity of 800 tons of wet sludge and will be built over 20 months, with completion scheduled for early 2021.

l  In Changsha, SUEZ NWS supports the local circular economy through waste-to-energy technology. At the Hunan sludge treatment plant, SUEZ NWS will deploy the Innodry® 1T drying technology solution for resource recovery and safe sludge disposal. After drying, sludge will be transferred to a domestic waste incineration plant, where it will be mixed with domestic waste streams to generate electricity for local residents. The power generated from the waste and sludge will be 250 million kwh a year. The plant, designed to treat 500 tons of wet sludge per day, will be completed in early 2022.

Steve Clark, CEO of SUEZ Asia, said, “China has made a significant commitment to the ecological integrity of the Yangtze Economic Belt, as it shifts focus to high-quality development. This will undoubtedly open up new opportunities for SUEZ. In particular, the agenda of aligning various environmental clean-up efforts will unlock more opportunities around the circular economy. These include water ecosystem restoration, wastewater treatment and reuse, and waste recycling and recovery. I am confident that our proven track record in China, together with our global portfolio of successfully deployed technologies and innovative solutions, will enable SUEZ NWS to act effectively in support of local governments.  This is the way to address the new challenges of environmental governance in the Yangtze River Basin.”
